This was taken in the upper walkway in palm house. This image was taken for a book, purely for Bokeh Panos that I had printed with Blurb. It was printed in 30x30" so was quite pricey. I still have it today, but wasn't thrilled with the print quality.

A Bokeh Pano of an uprooted tree from a photo-walk in Wales

I grew up very close to Wales and it's a shame that it took me until last year to visit it. Coming across this fallen tree on a forest walk, I wanted to capture this reclaimed ground, where the tree used to be. The panorama allowed me to hold focus mostly on the moss roots & rocks under the base.

This semi-wild horse I found grazing on a beach was was fairly still for a while, so I decided to get a Bokeh Pano. It did have a few areas which didn't match because of the movement, which I fixed in Photoshop before applying a bit of split tone colour.

I was trying to get very close to a subject here while having something else even closer. There was two reasons I wanted to do this. Firstly I wanted too emphasise the effect of foreground and background blur interacting and secondly I wanted to push the parallax effect and see if I could avoid errors if I tried really hard. It seemed to work as there is no clean up here at all. It seems like trying your best to rotate the camera around the lenses entrance pupil can work, but it took a lot of concentration because it felt really unnatural. I've been doing this a long time, but I have been getting very lazy about it and Autostitch has been fixing most of my errors for me.

Another thing to note here is the cat's-eye shaped bokeh bubbles here. They're obvious and pointing all over the place here because of the multiple images. It's a bit distracting, but there's not much you can do about it other switch out your lens (I think).

Capturing these flowers coming out was fun. Spring starts up OK, but the cold weather doesn't seem to get the memo in Sweden. I was happy with the way the water came out here, but wished I could have got some more foreground blur on the left of the frame.

I love seeing pine trees, although we do get them in the UK, this makes me feel like I'm in North America. This one works best when viewed very large because of the detail on the tree. There is so much blur here that it almost gets lost, but there's something that I still like about it.
